Chester Kaita crafted lures in the 1960s and 1970s on Oahu, including the legendary plunger used by Bobbie Brown to catch a 1,376-pound grander. Henry Chee, celebrated as the “inventor” of the resin tube, also landed his first grander using a custom scoop made by Kaita.
