Hawaiian fisherman Wes Leslie learned the art of lure making from legendary Captain Gene Vanderhoek, who needed a steady supply but was too busy slaying fish to pour his own. Wes’s handmade lures quickly earned respect on the Kona coast — though they were never commercially available.
Sadly, Wes Leslie passed away in March 2023. Only a limited number of his handmade lures exist, and they rarely surface. When they do, they go fast.
