Jon Niiyama is the Hawaii lure maker behind Niiyama Lures, known for handmade and hand-painted fish-head trolling lures with highly realistic eyes, gills, fins and baitfish detail. His original designs imitate offshore baitfish including aku, opelu, mahi, ballyhoo and malolo flying fish. Built in Hawaii for marlin, ahi, ono, mahi-mahi and other pelagic game fish, Niiyama Lures are valued for their lifelike craftsmanship and proven fish-catching performance. Jon Niiyama has also created limited-edition fish-head inserts and collaborative lures with Koya Lures and other respected lure makers
