How did Steve Coggin start making lures?

Steve Coggin started making lures on Oahu in the 1970s. His fishing buddy, Dr. Park, was a dentist skilled at making dental molds. They molded lures that worked well on the old Sampans and fished them.

One day they decided to design a big lure no one else had. They went back to the dental office and created the Extreme Tado.

How can you spot an original Park/Coggin lure?

Look for COPA etched into the lure. A lure with COPA etched in it is an original Park/Coggin.
