The Aliʻi Kai 14-inch Reverse Taper Slant Face Marlin Lure is a handmade big game trolling lure built for serious offshore marlin fishing. Its reverse-tapered head and slant face are designed to create strong surface action, a visible smoke trail, and an aggressive swimming pattern that attracts large pelagic predators.
With its purple, black, and silver fish-head design, layered glitter skirts, and proven Hawaiian-style shape, this Aliʻi Kai lure is built to pull attention in a trolling spread and draw strikes from trophy marlin.

Aliʻi Kai Lures are handmade big game trolling lures in Kona, Hawaiʻi, by charter captain Shawn Rotella, who has fished Hawaiian waters for more than 20 years. Mentored by Tom Futa and influenced by legendary Hawaiian lure maker Joe Yee, Rotella still uses many of Futa’s original molds and wooden masters to produce Aliʻi Kai Lures. He has caught more sailfish than any other local captain, held six top big-game fishing spots in a single year, and landed one of the largest blue marlin ever caught on 50-pound tackle. Each lure is tested and refined aboard his Kona charter boat, Night Runner, and the name Aliʻi Kai means “King of the Sea.”
