Bio:
George Lum, a renowned lure maker from Oahu, began crafting his iconic lures in the 1960s.
He gained recognition for his distinctive "Fat Boy" fish head scoops. His inserts, which set him apart from other lure makers of his time, were notably larger and wider. These inserts featured intricate details and painted designs, showcasing his exceptional artistry.
One defining characteristic of George Lum’s lures is the unique "chicken feet" engraving found on the lower skirt saddle. This marking is actually the kanji character for the "Lum" family name, making George one of the earliest lure makers to consistently include a maker's mark on his creations.
Although George passed away on July 11, 1999, his lures remain a cherished part of fishing history, celebrated for their innovation and craftsmanship.
