Mentored by Tom Futa and influenced by legendary Hawaiian lure maker Joe Yee, Rotella still uses many of Futa’s original molds and wooden masters to produce Aliʻi Kai Lures. He has caught more sailfish than any other local captain, held six top big-game fishing spots in a single year, and landed one of the largest blue marlin ever caught on 50-pound tackle.
